Description: The King’s Guard describes the heroism and duty of the knights that are entrusted with the king’s safety. It begins with an ominous introduction that grows in suspense, and then it leads right into the first heroic theme with cellos and basses. This theme is then carried by the first violins and violas as the other sections have moving accompaniment lines. The second theme has a slightly more peaceful feel, reminiscent of guards on standby at their posts. The main theme then returns with energy and carries all the way to an exciting finish!
