Description: This suite was originally written for piano in 1894-1895 and later orchestrated. The third of Dvorak’s “American” works, it was inspired by the composer’s time in America and mixes its musical influence with Slavic tradition. This arrangement for woodwind quintet captures the essence of the orchestral version in a chamber music setting. Some musicians may recognize the first movement, Andante con moto, as part of the soundtrack to Sid Meier’s Civilization IV, while the last movement, Allegro, was used in the trailer for The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. Includes clarinet parts in A and Bb.
