Originally written for chorus and full orchestra, the piece concludes the second part of the oratorio when the act of creation was completed by God in the book of Genesis. In this arrangement for intermediate brass quintet, the parts have been transposed to F to allow the music to fall well within comfortable playing ranges for most brass players, while retaining the melodic splendor and rhythmic vitality of Haydn’s original.
