Description: Unpublished during his lifetime, Boccherini’s La Musica Notturna di Madrid is a colorful evocation of the musical atmosphere of Madrid at night. It depicts the ringing of a church bell, a minuet danced by blind beggars, street singing, and finally, the retreat of the military night watch. The original version for string quintet, as edited by Gustav Lenzewski, is available in this LudwigMasters reprint edition.
