Description: Written in 1802 for English Horn by Luigi Cherubini (1760-1842), these Two Sonatas (Due Sonate) are extremely useful as works of study, since only few solo pieces are available for this instrument. They have also been adopted by hornists as a regular part of their virtuosic repertoire. Both this version for soloist and string orchestra and an edition for solo with piano reduction (both edited by Johannes Wojciechowski) are available from the Edwin F. Kalmus and LudwigMasters catalogs respectively. Reprint edition.
