Description: In 1908, Leó Weiner (1885-1960) accepted a music theory teaching position at Budapest Academy. He retired as emeritus professor in 1949. Antal Doráti, Georg Solti, and János Starker studied with him during the course of his tenure. DIVERTIMENTO NO. 2 ON HUNGARIAN FOLK DANCES, Op. 24 is a four-movement work for string orchestra completed in 1945, dedicated to Gustav Bárczy. Instrumentation: String Orchestra (8.8.5.5.5 in set).
